Environmental Roopu

The Ngāti Tūwharetoa Environmental Roopu is a group of passionate and interested Ngāti Tūwharetoa who come together quarterly to discuss important resource management issues both within the Iwi and nationally. The group was established by the TAMU to reduce the number of hui held on individual issues and to be part of a communication strategy to communicate effectively within the Iwi. There are mandated representatives from many of the Ngāti Tūwharetoa hapu and marae who attend the hui and re-distribute the information back to their hapu, however the hui are widely advertised and can be attended by all interested Ngāti Tūwharetoa.

These hui are a point of contact between external stakeholders and hapu to ensure that information can reach Ngāti Tūwharetoa. External parties can make an application to request time on the agenda through the TAMU.
